Shooting Schedule

During my two week half term break from college I decided to film my media over two days. I chose the days where myself and the other person in my music video where free to film all day.

I filmed on the 10th and 11th of April . Also I filmed earlier shots during the 1st week of April, the date was 2nd April however, these shots where not very good and due to the people I intended to use in my music video having over commitments I had to choose other days to film.

Prop and Location lists

Prop List – Laptop, to possibly show the boy looking at old photos from when the relationship was good and he sits there flicking through them whilst reminiscing.
Alarm Clock, to show a lyric in the song which is call at 7:03 so this alarm clock will be used to show the time at this point of the song.
Girlie Magazine, again to emphasise a lyric in the song when he is comparing girls in the magazine to his ex girlfriend but none of them compare to her.
Acoustic Guitar, just used for musical effect as the acoustic guitar will fit with the song as that is also acoustic.
Mobile Phone, this will be used to ring up his ex showing that he is leaving her a plea to come home this again fitting in with a lyric.

I have chosen these locations because they’re the locations which I feel best suit my music video as the use of the bedroom and bathroom give a sense of personal areas so this will help to show a truer meaning behind the video. Also the use of the park gives a different sense of scenery and will provide more colour and variety to the video.


Bedroom, closed space to emphasise the boys closure and recluse from the world due to loosing the one he loves. The bedroom will only be used as it is showing the boys isolation from the world which is the main point I want to get across to the audience as that's the meaning behind the song, that the boy is isolated after loosing the love of his life.

I have chosen these props because they will all be used to give a certain meaning to the audience such as the use of the alarm clock represents a lyric in the song as it will show the time 7:03. The rest of the props apart from the guitar will be used to show photos to give a meaning behind the song. Finally the guitar will just be used to rest on the bed just to represent the song being acoustic as the guitar is also acoustic.

Music Video Analysis Of Chosen Genre - Acoustic

The genre I have chosen for my music video is Acoustic which is a song played with just a single acoustic guitar all through the duration of the song. I am going to analyse a song by the same band I have chosen for my song. The song is called 'I will follow you into the dark' and it's also an acoustic song and will follow some of the same conventions of which I want to use.
